Continental school watercolor and pencil landscape painting depicting a hunting scene with hounds and figures. The image is surrounded by an elaborate inner border with fruit, putti, and classical portraits and an outer architectural border in an egg and dart design. Unsigned. Pencil inscription with attribution en verso reads "Pos. M. Scheuren" likely referring to the artist Caspar Johann Nepomuk Scheuren (Gernany, 1810-1887). Laid down on board. Housed and double matted in a giltwood frame. Sight: 15 3/4" H x 23 3/4" W. Framed: 24" H x 32 7/8" W. European19th Century.
PROVENANCE: Private Bristol, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Adhered to cardboard backing. Light wear to frame.
