Three (3) Italian marble bust sculptures depicting Greek figures. 1st item: Bust depicting the blind Greek poet Homer, titled OMERO along the lower front edge, mounted onto a circular pedestal base. 13 7/8" H x 7" W. 2nd item: Bust after the full-body portrait by Praxiteles, depicting the Greek god Hermes with the hand of the infant Dionysus resting on his left shoulder, titled HERMES to lower front edge and mounted onto a circular pedestal base. 14 1/4" H x 9 3/4" W x 5 1/8" D. 3rd item: Bust depicting the Greek figure Narcissus with downcast gaze wearing a floral headpiece and cloth affixed with a fibula at his shoulder, titled NARCISO to lower front edge and mounted onto a circular pedestal base. 8 3/8" H x 5 1/4" W x approx. 4" D. All items early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The collection of a Tennessee institution.
CONDITION: 1st item: Some scattered abrasions/minute losses to left eyebrow, nose and lower left edge of bust. Scattered chipping along the base edge. 2nd item: Minor fleabites to right shoulder. Scattered losses to pedestal base, largest measuring 1 3/4" x 1/2"; previous repair to base. 3rd item: Overall good condition; bust is affixed to base with discoloring glue.
