Star Pottery, Greensboro, Pennsylvania stoneware pottery jar. Cylindrical form with cobalt around base of rim, stenciled cobalt eagle with banner reading STAR POTTERY on one side with a cobalt floral swag on the shoulder. Decoration below the eagle includes a cobalt 4 denoting capacity flanked by cobalt dashes and a cobalt decoration line around the base edge. 14 1/4? H. Late 19th century. CONDITION: Overall excellent condition. Rim and shoulder slightly out of round, in the making.
