Thomas Hart Benton (American, 1889-1975) Regionalist lithograph titled “In The Ozarks” and published by Associated American Artists, New York, 1938. A depression-era Dust Bowl scene that depicts a farmer in a wide-brimmed hat seated on a barrel and gazing at three pigs that stand in the foreground. A farmhouse is encircled by a dirt road below a cloudy sky in the background. Signed “Benton” in pencil, lower right margin, and in the stone. Includes the original Associated American Artists information label. Unframed. Housed in a charcoal window mat with cream reveal. Sheet: 11 7/8 in. H x 15 7/8 in. W. Mat: 17 in. H x 19 3/4 in. W.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with marked toning to sight edges and even toning to sheet. Mounted to mat with old tape affixed en verso.
