English School, 18th century oil on canvas portrait of a young gentleman. The half length painting depicts him in his teenage years with blonde curls and rosy cheeks, wearing a ruffled white collar with dark jacket, before a landscape background. Unsigned. In a whitewashed parcel gilt frame with Rococo style raised scroll and rosette decoration.  Sight: 23 1/4 in. H x 19 1/4 in. W. Frame: 31 in. H x 27 in. W.

PROVENANCE: The collection of Hal and Susan Oven, Nashville.

CONDITION: 1 1/2 in area of buckling to canvas lower right, and to 2 in. area along lower right edge. Craquelure throughout.
