Tibetan Thangka textile, likely late 17th or 18th century, painted on fabric. Features a central large image of Buddha surrounded by smaller vignettes of Buddha in various shrine and temple settings, with worshippers, animals, and other various Hindu figures. Float mounted atop a white mat with plain brushed gold metallic frame. Approx. 38 " x 25-1/2", framed 29" x 40". Provenance: the estate of Mrs. Adna Godfrey Wilde, Jr. (Sara Joan Wilde), Colorado Springs, CO. Condition: Considerable darkening to fabric especially at top edge and along a vertical line that runs the length of the textile,some fading and cracking to paint, a couple of small thin, worn spots mostly to top of textile.
