Naturalistic C scroll handle. Marked on bottom J CONNING and MOBILE in separate rectangles below a small stamped pinwheel for James Conning, working Mobile, Alabama, 1842-1872. 3 3/4"H, 5.03 oz troy.
PROVENANCE: Estate of Judge John Nixon, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition. 1" area of discoloration/wear to underside of base, does not appear to be a solder repair. 1/4" shallow dent near monogram, scattered light scratches. Wear to marks.
