Chinese four-panel inlaid lacquered wood table screen with red coral, jade, mother of pearl, bone, and other inlays. The screen features an incised continuous landscape scene with fence, various figures, architectural structures, and flowering trees. The border with mother-of-pearl inlay forming a four-leaf flower and incised gilt design. The reverse side features incised and painted birds amongst flowering branches. 37 in. H x 48 in. W. x 7/8 in. D. Late 19th/Early 20th century.
CONDITION: All jade, coral, hardstone, and bone inlays appear intact. Losses to some sections of the inlaid tree/branches throughout. Scattered losses and rubbing to the perimeter edge of the screen. Last panel depicting a fence with fading and moderate losses to the right edge and gilt decoration. The reverse side with losses to applied paint design and incised gilt.
