Four (4) Turkman Tribal bag weavings, all wool on wool and woven in traditional designs and colors, including: a Baluch Saddle Bag, 4 ft. 1 in. x 2 ft. 2 in., circa 1890s; a Chodor bag with the original tassels, 3 ft. 6 in. x 1 ft. 5 in., circa 1890; a rare Tekke full bag ak-Chuval, 3 ft. 10 in. x 2 ft. 7 in., circa 1875; and a pair of Qashqai matched bags with central medallion design, woven in colors of red, blue and cream, 4 ft. 5 in. x 2 ft. 3 in. Circa 1910.
PROVENANCE: Private Des Moines, Iowa collection.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with some wear to seams. 2nd item: Losses to one end, overall good condition, with stains to the back. 3rd item: Staining and losses to the back. 4th item: Overall good condition.
