Greene County, Tennessee sideboard pie safe with silver painted urn tins having compass star designs and bell flower corners, total of 18 punched tin panels. Shaped gallery over two dovetailed drawers with shaped drawer fronts, lower two doors flanking a center panel, resting on elaborate shaped bracket front feet. Interior with three shelves, each shelf divided with wooden partitions, mortise and tenon door construction. Poplar secondary. 50 7/8" H x 58" W x 15 1/2" D. Mid 19th century. Note: Papers attached from June 24, 2006 John Jacob Dearstone estate auction in Greene Co. showing this safe. Provenance: Betty Irene Yates estate, Greeneville, TN. Condition: Overall excellent condition with an older cleaned surface, early 20th century painted tins with some scattered flaking.
