Oil on canvas painting after Giovanni Migliara (Italian, 1785-1837), depicting the bustling Piazza del Duomo before Milan Cathedral, first half of 19th C. Unsigned. Housed in a gilt wood frame with foliate decoration. Sight: 24 1/4" H x 29 1/4" W. Frame: 31" H x 36 1/2" W.
CONDITION: Painting with frame abrasions to each side plus craquelure, accretions including white and brown spatter, and surface grime throughout. Canvas is loose and has some buckling to lower left with minor losses, largest to steps, 3/16" L. Frame with abrasions and losses.
