Carl Millner (Germany, 1825-1895) large oil on canvas landscape painting depicting a river in the foreground and figures on the shoreline constructing a crude structure, with rocks and large mountains in the foreground and background, all beneath a cloudy sky. Signed and dated in red lower left "C. Millner, Munchen [Munich] 1843" Munich gallery and artist's supply business stamps en verso. Housed in a giltwood frame. Sight: 47 1/4" H x 33 3/4" W. Framed: 52 3/4" H x 39 1/2" W.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with one area of damage to the upper mid-margin with scattered abrasions, approx. 1", and lower right margin, approx. 1" with light overall grime. Signature is partially obscured by the frame. Please refer to U/V light photos.
