French wall-mounted barometer in wooden case with white enamel dial featuring maker name Passerat AParis and 3 indicators: Variable, Beau Temps, and Pluie ou Vent. Gilt bronze (ormolou) mask, lion, cherubs, decorations, and opposable sphinx. Carved finials and columns. Hinged case with hook and eye closure. 31 in. H x 6 3/4 in W x 6 1/4 in. D. Last quarter 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Lyman O. “Buzz” Heidtke, Nashville, TN.
CONDITION: Case and dial in overall good condition. Untested. Right column is loose and interior metal casing behind movement has likely been restored or repainted. Finials are removable and have traces of glue. Lion is not attached.
