Tennessee stoneware pottery jug with brown to cream slip glaze with black stamp, “Womack Bros. / Distillers / No. 203 Broad Street / Nashville, Tenn.” The Womack Brothers were John Harmon “J. H.” and Townsend P. “Ty” Womack. Originally from Lincoln County, Lynchburg, Tennessee, the brothers moved their operations to Nashville in the early 1900’s. 203 Broad Street was their second location, before closing in 1909. 10 in. H x 7 in. D. Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Middle Tennessee Collection.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with chipping to rim edge. Some smears to stamp and glaze.
