Carl Aubock II (Austria, 1900-1957) copper and brass tea pot and six (6) coasters. Unmarked. Items purchased at Carl Aubock’s workshop in Vienna, Austria in the 1950’s. Supplemental materials include a photocopy of a signed letter with provenance, plus a copy of the Aubock trade card, which served as the receipt at the time. Teapot is sketched on one side of the card and priced “260,” and to verso “Werkstatte Carl Aubock, Wien VII, Bernardgasse 23, Telephon B 39-2-67.” Copper teapot design is number 3879, with woven raffia handle and brass accents. Approximate dimensions: 9 3/4 in. L x 7 1/2 in. x H x 6 3/4 in. W. Coasters: 3 in. D. PROVENANCE: Irene Sullivan Estate, Oak Ridge, TN descendant of the Callahan family of Knoxville, TN.
CONDITION: Good overall condition with some tarnishing and signs of use. A small dent in the side of the teapot. Supplemental material is a photocopy of the receipt/trade card, not the original document.
