Pair of Chinese Foo Chow Gilt Lacquer Vases, baluster form with scenes of scholar and student in landscape. Bases marked Foochow, China. Comes with original fitted silk lined and dovetailed wooden box with slide lid. Vases and stands: 6 1/2" H. Box: 3 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 6 1/2". Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estates of Daniel and Patricia Burton, Nashville Tennessee.
CONDITION: Bases are either adhered to or integral to vases. One leg of one base has been broken off and re-glued; loss to an adjacent leg on same base. Some light wear, otherwise good condition. Some fading and light fraying to silk.
