Nine (9) Chinese Export Rose Medallion porcelain item with polychrome and parcel-gilt decoration. 1st – 2nd items: Two (2) handled vessels or small pitchers with alternating vignettes of flowers, birds, and insects and figural scenes around a central medallion with foliate and insect forms between, including one (1) jug or pitcher (6 5/8" H x 8" W x approx. 6 1/8" dia.), and one (1) creamer with scalloped rim and faceted body (5 3/8" H x 5 1/4" W x approx. 3 1/2" dia.). Unmarked. 3rd – 8th items: Six (6) dishes with alternating vignettes of flowers, birds,and insects and figural scenes around a central medallion with foliate and insect forms between, including one (1) square form with canted corners, two (2) oval plates, two (2) circular plates with scalloped rim, and one (1) rectangular deep dish with canted corners. One plate with scalloped rim marked "China" to underside. Ranging in size from 8 1/4" dia. to 9 1/4" H x 11 3/4" W. 9th item: Rose Canton circular plate with central vignette of flowers and insects surrounded by vignettes of insects with foliate forms in between. Marked "Made in China" to underside. 10 5/8" dia. Late 19th/early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Williamson County, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: 1st – 2nd items: pitcher with previous repair to handle evident at base. 3rd – 8th items: Both scalloped plates with minor fleabites to rim. Scalloped plate marked "China" with scattered minor spidering hairlines, largest measuring 3 1/4" L. 9th item: Minute loss to underside measuring 1/4" x 7/8". All items with minor scattered wear to glaze and parcel gilt and minute scattered surface residue.
