Two (2) Alan Magee (Maine/Pennsylvania. b. 1947) archival inkjet prints, one of a handprint with pencil, the other a standing paintbrush. Each is pencil signed lower right, with "A.P." lower left; housed under plexiglass in matching blond faux-wood frames with ivory mats. Sight: 15 1/4" H x 11 1/4" W. Frame: 25" H x 20 3/4" W. Artist Biography: Born in 1947 in Newtown, Pennsylvania, Alan Magee attended art school in Philadelphia and, in 1969, began working as an editorial and book illustrator in New York. Among his regular clients were Time, Atlantic, Playboy, New York Magazine, and The New York Times. During the 1970s Magee produced paintings for the book covers by Agatha Christie, Graham Greene, Saul Bellow, Bernard Malamud, John Irving, and many others. In the late 1970s Magee began to concentrate on his personal paintings, garnering numerous awards and accolades. Magee''s works can be found in many public collections including The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and The Art Institute of Chicago.
