Werner Wildner (Tennessee, 1925-2004), 2 watercolor illustrations and 3 drawings. Pencil sketches include 1) a witch with cane, emerging from a boot (sheet 19"H x 11"W, matted to 26 1/2"H x 18 1/2"W); 2) a gnome with mushroom (on silk, sight 10 1/2" x 6", matted to 20" x 14") and 3) a partial face with eyes and nose, with a dart piercing and drawing blood from one eyeball (sight 6" H x 5"W, matted to 13"H x 11 5/8"W). Also includes two watercolor/gouache illustrations on cardstock of a doctor and patient dated 1957 (12"H x 7 1/8"W) and an eyeball dated 1963 (13"H x 10"W). All works are signed (eyeball signed en verso).
PROVENANCE: The collection of Dr. Spencer Thornton of Nashville, acquired by him directly from the artist.
CONDITION: Works attached to mats and supports with masking tape. 1st item has 1/2" edge tear and handling creases. The piece on silk has a few worn spots about 1/8".
