English late 19th century oil on canvas maritime painting depicting ships on a choppy sea, with figures in a row boat, foreground, a rocky shoreline visible in the distance, and threatening clouds looming overhead. Unsigned. Housed in a modern carved giltwood frame. Sight – 19 1/4" H x 34 1/4" W. Framed – 26" H x 41" W.
CONDITION: Painting canvas possibly reduced and lined. Minor abrasions to the perimeter where the canvas has rubbed against the frame. Overall light grime.
