Four (4) Chinese Famille Rose porcelain bowls, each with overglaze enameled decoration of a variety of figures to the exterior, and a single Buddha figure to the interior, flaring serrated rim, and a round foot. The underside features character marks flanked by qilong dragons. The four bowls, each measuring 7 inches in diameter, are contained within a fitted orange silk-lined wooden case with double brass bail handles, 14 in. H x 18 in. W x 9 in. D. Late 19th to early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Michael Spalding, Nashville, TN.
CONDITION: One bowl with 2 inch hairline extending from a tiny rim chip. Others excellent condition. Wear to exterior and interior of case.
