Ladies 14K yellow gold solitaire ring featuring one Marquise Brilliant cut 4.00-carat diamond, Clarity-SI2, Color-I, Polish- Good, Symmetry-Good, Fluorescence-None. Measurements – 13.14 x 7.96 x 5.88 mm. The diamond is mounted in a 14K yellow gold custom setting having two rows of tapering baguettes to each side, 28 total, VS1-SI2, H-I color. The Interior of the band is marked “F14K 106B”. GIA report number 6224603133, dated August 25, 2022. Size 6 1/2, 9.5 total grams.

Helen La France (Kentucky, 1919-2020) oil on canvas (laid on board) country landscape depicting an active tornado bearing down on a rural farm community. A man driving a horse-drawn cart on a dirt road in the foreground tries to outrun the twister, while figures to the left seek cover in an underground earthen dugout. A barn sits momentarily untouched in the right foreground, while debris whirls toward it in the sky, and the tornado's path of destruction is visible in the background. Signed lower right. Housed in black painted wood frame. Sight: 17 5/8" H x 31 3/8" W. Framed: 18 3/4" H x 32 3/4" W. Biography: "Self-taught African American artist Helen LaFrance was born on a Kentucky farm and began painting in her 40s. She is known for her "memory paintings" drawn from her recollections of life growing up in the rural South. Several museums and private collectors, including Oprah Winfrey, own examples of her work." (Source: "Helen LaFrance Folk Art Memories" by Kathy Moses). Helen LaFrance died November 22, 2020 in a Mayfield, Kentucky nursing home at the age of 101.

CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Canvas has been wrapped and laid on board. A couple of very slight pinprick areas of paint void, paint imperfections. [See more photos →]

Ladies French Art Deco period platinum feather brooch featuring a Euro cut diamond approximately 0.59 carats, Clarity-SI1, Color-H accented by 128 diamonds (round brilliant, Euro, old mine, single, and rose cuts present) approximately 11.52 carats together, Clarity-VS2, Color-H. Stamped "DEPOSE SSM" to clasp. The brooch tests platinum and is 3 1/2" x 1 1/4" in size. Gross weight of the brooch is 23.86 grams.

Steinway and Sons, New York, Model M Grand piano, mahogany case over tapered legs terminating into block feet and mounted with castors. Serial #439088 indicating a manufacture date of 1974. 38" H x 57 3/4" W x 5'7" (67") D.

CONDITION: Significant sun fading to wood to lower half of top (the portion exposed when hinged top is open), fading to the underside of the lid and some sun fading to the left side. Soundboard and pinblock in good working order. The top of one sharps and flats key is missing. A sharp Zero string with very minor buzzing, action dampers with minor clicking. Ladies 18K white gold Piaget wrist watch featuring 32 round brilliant diamonds approximately 0.96 carats, Clarity-VS2, Color-H, accented by 4 natural emeralds. Jeweled mechanical movement, green jade dial and 18K white gold bracelet. The case, dial, and movement are all signed. 6 1/2"L. Gross weight of 56.85 grams.

Ladies 18K yellow gold quatrefoil clipback earrings by Van Cleef and Arpels. The earrings are marked "750", "VCA 1998", and "CU 0843". 1 5/8" L x 1 1/8" W. Weight of the earrings is 26.09 grams.

Fortunino Matania (Italy/United Kingdom, 1881-1963) oil on canvas religious painting, possibly an illustration piece, titled "Sermon on the Mount," depicting Jesus Christ preaching on the Mountain of Beatitudes to a crowd. Housed in a contemporary giltwood frame with painted sight edge. Signed "F. Mantania" lower right. Sight: 23 3/8" H x 29 1/2" W. Framed: 29 1/4" H x 35 1/8" W. Biography: Fortunio Matania was born in 1881 in Naples, Italy. He is primarily known for his depictions of scenes from Antiquity, many of which were illustrations for the British women's magazine "Brittania and Eve," and for his work as a war artist during the First World War. Provenance: Acquired from Solomon and Whitehead, Ltd., London, in 1979.

1st item: Ladies platinum ballerina ring featuring an oval diamond approximately 0.87 carats, Clarity-VS2, Color-F, accented by 20 tapered baguette diamonds approximately 2.75 carats together, Clarity-VS1, Color-F. The ring tests platinum and is size 8 1/2. Gross weight of the ring is 6.53 grams. 2nd item: 18K yellow gold ring jacket. The ring is marked 18K together with another hallmark and is size 8 1/2. gross weight of the ring is 7.20 grams. Gross weight of the lot is 13.73 grams.

George III English Chinoiserie enameled long case clock by Thomas Butterfield. The clock has an eight-day, two-train striking movement and is contained in a lacquered teal green and gilt case decorated with Chinoiserie figural landscape decoration. The domed pediment is fitted with gilt balled finials. The arched dial has a silver-applied chapter ring with gilt foliate corner spandrels. The matted center of the dial contains an aperture to view the day of the month and a Seconds dial. Maker’s signature and address engraved on a plaque at the top. 98" H x 19 1/2" W x 10" D. Last quarter 18th century. Note: Thomas Butterfield is recorded in the book Britain's Old Clocks And Watches (1954) as the maker of a similar Parliament Clock, circa 1790, which also is contained in a Japanned case.

PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.

CONDITION: The clock case is in very good condition with age-related separation cracks to the wood panels, some abrasions and losses, and some restoration to the paint decoration, visible under UV light inspection. The movement has been previously restored, all parts present, functionality not checked or guaranteed. Later paint decoration on the clock, probably early 20th century. [See more photos →]

Cari E. Watson (United Kingdom, 19th-20th Century) oil on canvas painting titled "Highland Calves, Morning by the Lochside, Loch Jay N.B." depicting highland cows grazing in a meadow of heather and grass near a body of water under a cloudy blue sky. Signed and dated "Cari E. Watson – 1924" lower right. Titled and additionally signed, en verso. Housed in a giltwood frame with protective plastic mounted en verso. Sight: 12 1/4" H x 18 1/2" W. Framed: 15 7/8" H x 22" W.

Pair (2) of Rococo style giltwood carved deer head wall mounted mirrors, featuring an oval frame carved with acanthus leaves finished at the base with antlered deer heads nesting in a leafy cartouche base. 30" H x 19" W. Early to mid 20th century.

PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.

CONDITION: Overall very good condition with some old repairs to the antlers and scroll points. Some age wear to glass with light overall general wear. [See more photos →]

Milanese Renaissance style ebony cupboard, possibly made by Jackson and Graham of London, mid to late 19th century, with profuse inlay decoration; constructed in three sections. Removable Cornice features a double domed pediment, each pediment topped with a classical bracketed plinth and inlaid with mask and classical figures, above an upper shelved section with two doors, flanked and divided by fully turned columns with carved and inlaid capitals, and inlaid with portraits of a young man and young woman (suggesting this cabinet may have been made as a wedding gift). Lower, stepped cupboard section has a molded edge over a frieze with panoramic, silhouetted scenes of putti in landscapes, over two inlaid doors inlaid with circular putti scenes, flanked by inlaid pilasters, atop a plinth base with square ogee molded feet. Heavily inlaid throughout with bone and ivory veneers including foliate and geometric patterns, angels, urns, winged lions, griffins, and other classical motifs. 91 1/2" H x 51 1/2" W x 19 3/4" D. Milanese or English, circa 1870. Note: the underside of the top section retains a Railway Express Agency shipping label dated 1958 (or 1938) showing the piece was shipped from Washington, DC to Chattanooga, Tennessee. A copy of a portion of a 1993 appraisal, dating this piece to the Victorian era with possible attribution to Jackson & Graham, is available to winning bidder.

Ladies 14K yellow gold bracelet featuring 228 round brilliant diamonds approximately 6.84 carats in total, Clarity-SI2, Color-I. The bracelet is 7" L. Gross weight of the bracelet is 30.39 grams.

Pair of Adam style gilt carved wood and metal mirrors, comprised of shell form pediments with foliate and leaf swags and scrolls over rectangular mirrors with medallion and foliate swag decoration along the lower edge. 47 1/2" total H x 18 3/4" W. European, Late 19th/early 20th century.

CONDITION: Both mirrors in overall good condition with light wear and some minor silvering to mirrors. Losses to the lower center carved decoration of one mirror. [See more photos →]

Art Nouveau table vitrine or bijouterie cabinet, manner of Louis Majorelle, Mahogany throughout, rectangular form with bronze banded and hinged glass top, above carved corners, tall slender legs terminating into slipper feet and joined by a carved foliate x-stretcher. 35 1/2" H x 44 1/2" W x 25 1/2" D. European, Early 20th century.

Ladies 18K white gold Patek Philippe wrist watch featuring 40 round brilliant diamonds approximately 1.00 carats, Clarity-VS2, Color-G. The round bezel dial is fitted with an 18K white gold bracelet. The case, dial and movement are all marked. The watch is 6 1/2" L. Gross weight of the watch is 47.55 grams.

Ladies 18K white gold art deco bracelet featuring 257 round brilliant diamonds approximately 3.11 carats together, Clarity-VS2, Color-G, and 5 natural oval sapphires. The bracelet is marked "750" with additional hallmark and is 7" L. Gross weight of the piece is 27.00 grams.

Grouping of three (3) stoneware pottery advertising whiskey jugs including: one (1) jug having Albany slip glazed jug inscribed "J. V. Carothers Pure Lincoln County Whiskey"; one (1) jug having Albany slip glaze inscribed "I was filled at W.W. Alexander's Fayetteville Tenn When I get empty take me back"; and one (1) white slip glazed jug with cobalt stencil reading "FROM PITT & BAGGETT, SPRINGFIELD, TENN. NOTHING NEW BUT THE JUG." Ranging in size from 7 3/4" x 9 1/2" H. All jugs late 19th/early 20th century.

CONDITION: 1st jug with vertical spider hairlines that run from the base up through the handle area. 2nd jug missing handle with chips to the rim. 3rd jug with old repaired breaks to the base and overall craquelure to the glaze with some darkening. [See more photos →]

English Adams style painted satinwood cabinet or diminutive sideboard, the center section having a serpentine form with single top drawer with brass escutcheons over a two-door cabinet with landscape vignettes with classical female figures flanked on each side by a concave panel with vignette of vases with bouquets. This cabinet is decorated with classical medallions, birds, and draped garlands and is supported on tapered legs with spade feet. 38" H x 48" W x 28" D. Second half of the 19th century.

Chinoiserie decorated Dutch Linen Press with red lacquer and gilt enamel decoration depicting Chinese figures engaging in various activities in landscape settings. Two-part construction. Top section with Rocaille-carved serpentine pediment and three (3) plinths for displaying vases, over two wide inset ogee paneled doors which open to reveal a fitted interior with linen shelves and drawers. Bombe-shaped lower section contains two short drawers over two long drawers, curved blocked feet and a valanced skirt. Back of case with old label partially reading ARTHUR PIERRE – J. & A. PIERRE ANVERS ANTWERPEN. 98" H x 72" W x 26" D. 19th century.

CONDITION: Overall good condition with minor wear commensurate with age, the red Chinoiserie paint decoration appears to be a later addition. The locks and pulls are not original to the piece and there has been repair to the mortise and tenon joinery as well as the frame and runners to re-strengthen the top, interior, and lower sections. Pair (2) of George III style Edwardian painted satinwood armchairs after the English Cabinet maker, George Seddon, featuring inset caned backs with painted center medallions depicting cupids, double inset caned arm, and caned seats. The satinwood chair frames are painted in the neoclassical style with floral sprays and green floral accents and are supported on delicately turned legs with casters. 38" H x 26" W x 21" D. 13.5" H of seat (frame, not cushion). 19th century.

CONDITION: Both overall very good condition with minor wear and crazing to the painted finish commensurate with age. The cane is intact and in very good condition, seats are fitted with two loose seat cushions. [See more photos →]

Chanel Classic square double flap quilted black lambskin leather shoulder bag, medium, having woven-in leather chain strap and 24K gold plated hardware. Exterior flap with frontal CC turn-lock closure opens to an interior flap with a snap closure over a black leather-lined slip pocket and a burgundy leather-lined interior with stitched double "C" logo and "CHANEL (registered)" stamped above two slip pockets, "MADE IN FRANCE" stamped to opposite side of interior, additional quilted slip pocket to back of exterior. Hologram sticker reads "1602152", to lower left of interior. Includes Chanel authenticity card with matching serial number and a Chanel dustbag. Bag: 7" H x 10" W x 2 1/2" D. Overall with strap: 22" H. Serial number corresponds to years 1989 -1991.

Ninety-two (92) piece set of Wedgwood Chinese Tigers Green patterned porcelain with green foo lion or dog design and gilt trim, including twelve (12) 11" dinner plates; twelve (12) salad plates; twelve (12) bread and butter plates; twelve (12) footed teacups with twelve (12) deep saucers; eight (8) rimmed soup bowls; eight (8) cream soup bowls with eight (8) saucers; two (2) 15" oval serving platters; one (1) oval vegetable bowl; one (1) handled vegetable dish; one (1) three-tiered serving tray; one (1) teapot; one (1) creamer; and one (1) sugar bowl with lid. All marked with "Wedgwood, Bone China, Made in England, Chinese Tigers, Williamsburg, Commemorative Ware" and numbering to underside. Heights ranging in size from 2 5/8" H x 5 3/8" H. Ladies 18K yellow gold bracelet by Nicolis Cola. The bracelet is marked "750", "Italy", and "Nicolis Cola". The bracelet is 9 1/2" L. Weight of the bracelet is 55.64 grams.

Maxine Nichols McClendon (American, born 1931) Abstract acrylic on stuffed and sewn canvas painting titled "Jubilee" rendered in shades of pink and yellow, possibly representing a landscape as seen from above. Signed with additional artist's information, en verso of canvas. Arkansas Arts Center, Little Rock, AR label indicating that this painting won the purchase award during the 6th Annual Prints, Drawings, and Crafts Exhibition, 1973, with additional typed exhibition tag, en verso. Housed in a silver metal frame. Sight: 38 1/2" H x 52" W. Framed: 39 1/4" H x 52 1/2" W.

George Northup (American, b. 1940) bronze sculptural "Aspen" lamp, comprised of a patinated or cold painted Aspen birch tree resting on a naturalistic patinated base with leaves and fitted with a round bronze shade and dragonfly finial. Signed on the base edge "Northup" and numbered 2237 to the underside. 67 1/2" total H with finial. Shade: 16 1/2" H x 10" dia.

Ladies 18K yellow gold Chopard wrist watch featuring 2 round brilliant and 51 single cut diamonds approximately 0.63 carats together, Clarity-SI1, Color-I. The watch is marked "750" and is 6" L. The interior of the back marked .750 and 18K along with additional hallmarks and the mechanical works have additional Chopard marks. Gross weight of the watch is 34.12 grams.

Gabriel Viardot (France, 1888-1964) signed 19th century French bronze mounted music etagere or cabinet in the Asian style. Comprised of three open shelves above five vertical lower compartments for storing music. Top and upper sides with carved frieze and central bronze figural dragon and inset bronze relief plaques, carved side panels, and base with carved skirt with inlaid central plaque, all resting on curved and carved French style legs. Signed on the left back leg. 54 1/2" H x 22 1/4" W x 16" D. Late 19th century. Note: this piece was deaccessioned by the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art in 2019 and purchased by the late Pia Stratton in our October 5, 2019 auction, lot #27.

Twelve (12) Saint-Louis Excellence pattern cut crystal water goblets with diamond cut ball, faceted body, notched stem, star cut foot, and gilt scalloped highlights and rims. All items with Saint-Louis maker's mark etched to underside of foot. 10 3/8" H x 4" dia. French, circa 1967.

Oval giltwood mirrored girandole comprised of a ribbon and foliate pediment, mirror with a beveled edge having acanthus and floral surround, naturalistic edge, and three-armed sconce with foliate ornamentation issuing from lower edge. 33 1/2" H x 18 1/4" W x approx. 8 3/4" D. Late 19th/Early 20th century.

PROVENANCE: The Estate of Peggy Lambert, Maryville, Tennessee.

CONDITION: Minor scattered age splits to wood. Two small areas of loss and one are of partial detachment to ribbon portion of pediment. [See more photos →]

American School, likely Wisconsin, Works Progress Administration era oil on canvasboard landscape painting, titled "Rural Wisconsin", depicting a lone male figure fixing a fence in a plowed field before a red barn house surrounded by trees on a hill. Signed "WE HALEY" or "WEHRLEY" lower right. Titled, en verso. Housed in a wooden frame. Sight: 19 3/4" H x 23 1/2" W. Framed: 23 1/2" H x 27 1/2" W.

North Italian or South German Baroque tabernacle form walnut desk or bureau bookcase. The upper section features a center cabinet with a scenic inlaid door depicting a castle scene flanked on each side with locking drawers with scenic landscape scenes. The drawers are paneled in the Pietra Dura and Pietra Paesina technique with Dendritic Limestone tablets. The interior of the cabinet contains two drawers and is lined with French Toile wallpaper. The lower case contains two candle slides over a hinged slant front writing surface inset with felt. The interior of the desk is fitted with drawers and slides, which when open reveal a hidden compartment. The desk sits over a bureau that contains two tiers of half drawers and two full-length drawers and rests on bun feet. The secretary is inlaid with exotic woods and each drawer and cabinet has a locking escutcheon. 72 1/2" H x 40" W x 22" D. Late 18th/early 19th century.

CONDITION: The ogee base molding and bun feet have been replaced. Wear to the inlaid scenes on the cabinet door and to the general surfaces. Some natural and some age related cracks to the tablets. [See more photos →]

European, likely German, marquetry inlaid commode, satinwood with other mixed hardwoods, bombe form with a conforming top above three drawers with slim cabriole feet. Top, drawer fronts, and sides with elaborate bone and wood inlay depicting hunt scenes. 33" H x 34 1/2" W x 15 1/4" D. Late 19th/early 20th century.

Comprised of a rectangular, black, triple-section, tooled leather top surmounted by a beveled bronze border over a paneled frieze containing a narrow center drawer flanked by deeper side drawers with false drawers on the opposite side. The locking drawers are mounted with bronze garlands and lion mask escutcheons, holding in their mouths, a draped handle. Bronze molding frames the drawers, back, sides, and bottom. Each leg is decorated on all four sides with pierced bronze ribbon and foliate mounts as well as fluted bronze panels. Cabinet contains four red velvet-lined shelves and a velvet-lined back. Glass sides with incised lower panels, all on a base with curved bracket feet and pierced skirt. The cabinet is surmounted by a removable carved altar stand having carved fretwork top above a central carved compartment with carved mask, flanked by two offering shelves. French Directoire mahagony recamier or daybed. Consisting of a high curved headrest and low footrest, both with carved swan head finials and carved rosette within diamond decoration to the crest rails, and turned tapering Neoclassical feet with carved rosette decoration at the top. The daybed is fully upholstered on the front and back of the supports in a white cotton chintz and is fitted with a loose seat cushion. 30 1/2" H x 70 1/2" L x 21" D. 19th century.

English George III diminutive figured and line-inlaid mahogany sideboard. Block front top over a conforming case, with a "hidden" frieze drawer, crossbanded with outline inlay and fitted in green baize with cutlery divisions, and flanked by one deep, compartmentalized drawer to one side and one cupboard drawer to the other, both also fitted in green baize, and with decorative keyhole escutcheons and brass pulls. A shaped apron partially conceals a Tambour front sliding compartment and the whole is supported on finely tapered legs. 36 1/2" H x 54 1/2" W x 25 1/2" D. Circa 1820.

Al (Alvin Lee) Allen (American/Arkansas,1925-2008) watercolor and casein on paper painting titled "Morning (San Francisco)" depicting an abstract industrial scene with architecture in the background. Signed "A. L. Allen" lower right. Exhibition label for the Arkansas Art Center's "Stillness & Light, Al Allen Painting Retrospective 1950-1994" in Summer, 1995 with artist, title, and dated "1958" en verso. Housed and triple matted under glass in a contemporary wood frame. Sight: 16 1/2" H x 22" W. Framed: 27" H x 32 1/2" W. Biography: Alvin (Al) Lee Allen Jr. was raised in Memphis; after graduation from Central High School in 1944, he served in the Navy during World War II, using his artistic skills in the top-secret Terrain Model Workshop. In 1946, Allen enrolled in Louisiana State University (LSU). Among his teachers were O. Louis Guglielmi and Ralston Crawford. Completing his undergraduate studies in 1950, Allen returned to Memphis to teach at Treadwell High School. Meanwhile, he pursued an MA degree at LSU. The next year, he joined the faculty of Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. In 1968, Allen was invited to chair and develop the art department at the University of Arkansas Little Rock. In 1985, he was given the title of Professor and University Artist-in-Residence. Allen's works are in a number of collections belonging to museums, colleges and universities, and private individuals, including the Arkansas Arts Center, the High Museum (Atlanta), and the Joslin Art Museum (Omaha). UALR has several works in its permanent collection. Both former U.S. senators Dale Bumpers and David Pryor displayed Allen's works in their Washington DC offices, and during Bill Clinton's presidency, two of Allen's works were hung in the White House. Note: the first annual Mid-South Exhibition was held at the Brooks in 1956, a tradition that continued for the next 17 years and included purchase prizes to help bring regional art into the collection. David Davidovich Burliuk (New York/Russian Federation/Ukraine/China, 1882-1967) post-impressionistic oil on board still life painting depicting a vase of multi-colored flowers upon a ledge before the ocean and clouded-filled sky in the background, rendered in a heavy impasto technique. Signed and dated "Burliuk 1954" lower left, date slightly obscured by frame. Partially torn address label of previous owner Catherine Clinedinst, Verrnon, NY, en verso. Housed in a wooden frame with a light brown linen liner and a giltwood fillet. Sight: 6 3/4" H x 4 3/4" W. Framed: 12 1/4" H x 10 1/4" W. Biography: "Born into a privileged class of Russian Society, David Burliuk became a central figure in the history of the Russian avant-garde movement as an accomplished poet, art critic, and exhibition organizer. He studied at the Kazan School of Fine Arts in 1898, then in Odessa, Moscow, Munich, and in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, however, as a breaker of artistic tradition, he found himself expelled from the Moscow Institute in 1911. His early works were Fauve-like and were exhibited with the Blue Riders in Munich. With the advent of World War I, he left Russia and traveled for four years. Pair of Art Nouveau spelter herms or busts of Classical figures with parcel gilt accents, mounted on enameled porcelain pedestals decorated with birds, flowers, and scrolling foliate forms on maroon and cream grounds, atop tripodal scrolling spelter bases with pierced latticework. One (1) depicts a woman, possibly the Greek goddess Artemis, wearing a scrolling crescent moon crown having a rose at her breast; and one (1) depicts a bearded man with scrolling foliate headpiece, possibly Dionysus. Exhibited Middle Tennessee, Robertson County, slant front desk, cherry primary and poplar secondary. Consisting of a slant front top that opens to a fitted interior with two dovetailed drawers overhanging one dovetailed drawer flanked by lopers and tall turned Sheraton legs and feet. One interior drawer signed "Miss Mary McNeely/Handleyton,Tenn/Moses Byrum". 38 1/4" H x 35 1/4" W x 19 3/4" D. Circa 1840/1850. Note: This desk was exhibited at the 1971 MADE IN TENNESSEE arts exhibition held at the Tennessee Fine Arts Center at Cheekwood, located in Nashville, TN. It is also featured in the exhibition catalog of the same name on page 16, figure 9. Genealogy: Moses Byram (1798-1880) was listed in the Roberson County census of 1850 as a farmer, aged 52 years, with an estate valued at $4000. An inventory taken at the time of his death in 1880 included a turning lathe, workbench and screws, and various wagon wheel parts.

19th century French 3-piece Sevres or Sevres style figural clock set, turquoise blue glaze with gilt trim. Drum form clock surmounted by a cherub and flanked by satyr figures playing musical instruments, all on a shaped base with bird finials and ball feet. Porcelain clock face with Roman numeral markers and marked for English retailer Phillips Bros. & Son, 23 Cockspur Street London 2000. Works numbered 1042. 11" H x 11 1/2" W x 5 1/2" D. Together with a pair of matching figural satyr single garniture candlesticks with incised numbers to base underside. 10 3/8" H. Late 19th century.

French Louis XV style gilt mounted mahogany center table, circular form with slightly protruding corners, variegated marble top with inlaid circular red marble, over a skirt with serpentine lower edge and satyr mask swag mounts; cabriole legs with cartouche and foliate mounts, terminating in paw foot sabots, joined by four subtly S-curved stretchers with foliate and rosette mounts, issuing from a central ball-and-ring turned pedestal with arrow foot. 29 1/4" H x 41 1/4" dia. Two (2) Oliver Clare (United Kingdom, 1853-1927) oil still life paintings of fruit. 1st item: Oil on canvas painting depicting bunches of fruit, including peaches, plums, and a strawberry, situated on the ground in a naturalistic setting. Signed "Oliver Clare" lower right. Housed in a pierced Rococo-style giltwood frame. Sight: 6 1/2" H x 9 1/2" W. 2nd item: Oil on board painting depicting bunches of grapes and plums situated on the ground in a naturalistic setting. Signed "Oliver Clare" lower right. Housed in a Rococo-style giltwood frame. Sight: 6 4/8" H x 8 3/4" W. Framed: 13 3/4" H x 16" W. Note: Oliver Clare was born in Birmingham, England, the son artist George Clare and brother of Vincent Clare. The Clare family specialized in still life and flower paintings, and some of George Clare's work was also used for advertising through postcards and posters. His paintings were exhibited through the Royal Society of Artists in Birmingham, the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Art, the Manchester City Art Gallery, and the Royal Academy in London.

Two dovetailed drawers with gilt metal Rococo style handles. Rounded corners over cross-banded veneered cabriole legs ending in gilt sabots. Each 26 1/2" H x 15 3/8" W x 11 1/2" D. Early 20th century.
