Three (3) Chinese carved jade figures, including one (1) recumbent dog, one (1) recumbent camel, and one (1) gourd form brush washer with hollow well and incised decoration to the exterior. Ranging in size from 2 3/4" H x 3/4" W x 3/4" D to 5 1/2" L x 2" W x 1 1/2" D. 20th century or earlier.

Chinese Famille Rose porcelain garden seat, hexagonal barrel form with pierced medallions to the top and sides, foliate vignette decoration to the top and large vignette decoration to each side depicting peacocks perched on blue rocks with flowering branches and chrysanthemums, all against a blue fret ground. 18" H x 10 1/2" dia. Early 20th century.

Pair (2) of Chinese Famille Verte palette porcelain floor vases, baluster form with galleried rims. The wide-lipped rims with interior enameled foliate decoration and an exterior jagged leaf-tip border, the neck with long reserved panels of figures within gardens at various pursuits, the body with a variety of shaped reserved panels with figural, landscape, and architectural images, all separated by a diapered grisaille foliate design and resting on a slightly flared feet with pendant leaf tip decoration, the shoulder reserves with gilt trim. 35 1/2" H x approx. 15" W. 19th century or earlier.

PROVENANCE: A Knoxville, Tennessee collection.

CONDITION: One vase with old restoration to the rim, with some paint exfoliation noted to the rim. Scattered wear to enameled decoration commensurate with age. No other repairs noted under UV light inspection. [See more photos →]

Pair Famille Rose figural decorated bowls with turquoise glaze interior. Each bowl of Qianlong form with flared rim and low foot, overglaze-decorated with 3 female figures in a boat and pagoda, landscape and fungi decoration on a background of sgraffito waves in white enamel. Turquoise glaze and Ch'ien Lung seal mark to underside. 6 1/2" diameter by 3 1/4"H. Chinese, late Qing or early Republic Period. Includes later carved wooden stands, 1 1/2"H. Note: Consignor's mother acquired the bowls in the 1920s from a neighbor who had served as a missionary to China.

Four (4) Japanese Meiji Period Satsuma porcelain items. 1st item: Plate with symmetrical design of numerous ladies in court dress surrounding a central medallion of a bird upon a patterned gilt ground. Character mark inscribed in red to underside. 8 3/8" dia. 2nd-3rd items: Two (2) baluster form vases with vignettes of an interior domestic scene and a scene of monks bidding each other farewell to either side having raised gilt accents and patterning throughout. Southeast Asian Tibetan Buddhist Thangka painting depicting The Perfect Wheel of Life imagery, the Bhavachakra or Samsara, conveying a symbolic representation of cyclic existence, with themes of karma, rebirth, life, death, and suffering in a journey towards enlightenment or Nirvana. The inner wheel is divided into segments with figural imagery depicting the spheres of existence and rebirth, and the outer wheel depicts the "Causes of dependent origination". The wheel is held by Yama, the Lord of Death deity, with two (2) bodhisattvas in the upper corners against a landscape background. Rendered with bright polychrome pigments and gilt details on a silk or cotton fabric. Housed in a contemporary giltwood bamboo decorated frame with a gold brocade mat under glass. Pair of framed Japanese scroll paintings, gouache and watercolor on paper, including one spring scene depicting various colored flowers and one summer scene depicting a red maple tree with white flowers at it's base and mist obscuring several branches. Both with one circular red seal lower left corner and both are framed with silk brocade borders and housed in ebonized wood frames. Likely from part of a Four Seasons grouping by the same artist. Large-scale Chinese polychrome painted paper and canvas 6-panel floor screen. The front, paper on wood, features finely detailed scenes with court figures engaging in various activities; mountains and other buildings visible in the background, and a river, bridge and fence in the foreground, all within a Chinese foliate design border. The back features stylized, framed cloud decorations on a brown ground, paper mounted onto canvas. 102 1/4" H x 132 total W. Each panel measures 22" W. 19th century.

Large and heavily carved 19th century ebony or ebonized hardwood table, possibly Chinese for the Ango-Indian market. Tall round form with inset rouge marble top, reeded edge, and a carved and pierced foliate frieze depicting foxes eating grapes. The top rests upon a birdcage support over a reeded and acanthus carved pedestal, supported on three acanthus carved cabriole legs with figural dog head knees and paw feet. 34 1/2" H x 49" dia.

CONDITION: Overall very good condition with expected age related wear. Some wood shrinkage noted to frieze with scattered rubbing and wear. [See more photos →]

1st item: Gilt bronze mounted celadon glazed porcelain bottle form vase, wired as lamp, with foo dog and ring handles, the body with raised foliate and Chinese symbol decoration. Mounted upon a gilt bronze pierced circular stand with lion mask and paw feet, topped with gilt bronze cap. Chinese coin style finial. Vase: 14" H. Lamp overall w/finial: 31 1/4" H. 20th century. 2nd item: Chinese patinated bronze urn, archaistic form with raised taotie mask and foliate decoration to the body, and animal head handles with articulating rings. Meiji or Taisho era Japanese silver wire cloisonne box and cover, possibly Ando Jubei (1876-1953), worked in standard and musen ('wireless') cloisonne, the lid decorated with egret standing at the edge of a pond, reflected in the water at its feet; the interior lined with damask silk. 4"W x 1 3/4"H x 3 1/4"D.

Large Chinese figural jade carving depicting the Moon Goddess Chang-e depicted standing on a rock base and slightly leaning to the right with a scepter in her left hand and a large flowering vine in her left hand with three rabbits. Chinese gemstone necklace consisting of one (1) central carved green mottled jadeite plaque with carved guardian dog decoration flanked by jadeite spacers, two (2) faceted amethyst beads, and two (2) carved coral beads together with thirty-four (34) round green nephrite beads and thirty-eight (38) disc-shaped green jadeite spacers. 19" L. 20th century.

Chinese 4-Panel folding Coromandel screen, each panel with applied colored hardstone decorations. Asian beauties engaged in various activities in an outdoor setting adorn the upper section while vignettes featuring pairs of hardstone rabbits decorate the lower section, all enclosed in mother of pearl and inlaid hardstone foliate borders and dividers, with gilt highlights throughout and to the reverse of each panel. Raised on square feet with brass caps. 72" H x 64" W (16" W each panel). Early 20th century.

PROVENANCE: Property from the Collection of Jo Ann Cline Yates, Lookout Mountain Tennessee. Purchased 1975 from T'Ang Horse, Singapore. A copy of the shipping receipt will be available to the winning bidder.

CONDITION: Overall good condition with expected age related wear and minor losses, mostly minor chipping to lacquer edges. Some overpainting noted to black lacquer ground, primarily to the back. [See more photos →]

Chinese carved hardwood stand, the top having a scalloped edge fitted with its original 5-petal shaped marble above a highly carved frieze and four curved legs with mask knees and paw feet, joined at the center with a round shelf. 32" H x 22" dia. Late 19th/Early 20th century.

PROVENANCE: The estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.

CONDITION: Overall good condition. The marble top with hairline cracks and some minute losses at fissures. One leg with a crack near shelf joint that does not extend through (stabile), another leg with smaller crack near the same area. Five (5) Chinese porcelain snuff bottles. 1st item: cylindrical form underglaze blue and iron red bottle with figural and hunting decoration. 2nd item: cylindrical form with blue and orange cloud and dragon decoration to exterior, with carved wood stand and red seal mark to underside, topped with a wood stopper. 3rd item: cylindrical form with fish decoration to exterior, carved wood stand, and red seal mark to underside, topped with a jade stopper. 4th item: small bottle form blue and white bottle with foliate decoration to exterior topped with jade and hardstone stopper. 5th item: ovoid form with applied tri-color enamel decoration with jade stopper painted red seal to underside. Ranging in size from 3" H x 1" dia. to 3 3/4" H x 2" W. Late 19th/20th century.

CONDITION: 1st bottle with 2" hairline crack to body and missing stopper; 2nd with scattered firing flaws and chipping to underside rim; 3rd with small hairline crack to body, decoration wear, and scattered firing flaws. 1st-2nd items: Two (2) Chinese Famille Rose porcelain bowls, including one (1) export bowl with vignettes to each side depicting figural river scenes and gilt border to inner rim (2 1/2" H x 5 1/2" dia.) and one (1) bowl with polychrome decoration depicting flowers and.butterflies with red seal mark to the base (2 1/2" H x 6 3/8" dia.). 1st bowl is 19th century, 2nd bowl is 20th century. 3rd item: Worcester hard paste round lidded teapot with a flower bud finial and India purple monochrome floral decoration, unmarked. 5 1/2" H. 19th century. 4th-5th items: Meissen chinoiserie style cup and saucer with scalloped rims and pink dragon decoration, both pieces with underglaze blue crossed swords mark. Saucer 4" dia. Cup 2" H. 19th century. 6th item: Royal Crown Derby potpourri urn with applied masks to rim and paw feet to the base, underside with RCD red hallmark. 4" H x 4 1/4" dia. 19th century. 7th item: Chelsa Chinoiserie plate with shaped rim, crane vignettes to the rim, and floral decoration to the center. Underside with "red anchor" mark and retains collection sticker reading "Wiltsie Collection". 9 3/8" dia. 18th century.

Four (4) Chinese and Japanese scroll paintings, all watercolor on silk, including one (1) painting of chicks with pink peonies, one (1) painting of carp and goldfish, one (1) painting of butterflies and flowers, and one (1) painting depicting a hunter with bow and arrow. All with calligraphic inscriptions and seal marks; painting of fish and painting of butterflies with additional calligraphic inscriptions and seal marks en verso. All mounted to silk brocades with paper backing. Sizes of paintings range from 16" H x 12 1/2" W to 46" H x 14" W. Lengths of scrolls range from 50" to 74". Hunter painting possibly 19th century, others 20th century.

Pair of two (2) Chinese watercolor and gouache paintings on silk; one (1) depicting an elderly male civil official in a blue coat, tiered cap, and white beaded necklace and one (1) depicting a woman in a red coat, ceremonial headdress, and yellow beaded necklace. Both are portrayed seated with crane-embroidered rank badges on a tiered stand with decorative carpet below. Both housed in giltwood bamboo frames with black filets under glass. Sights: 36" H x 24" W. Framed: 39" H x 27" W. Both early 20th century.

Japanese painted scroll in the Chinese taste depicting a group of bulls and a calf in a naturalistic landscape with cherry blossom trees, grassy hills, rocky terrain, and Mount Fuji visible in the distant background. Signed in calligraphy in the lower right corner black Japanese characters and stamped with a red seal. Pencil inscribed "Fujisan" to the edge of the scroll. Mounted to a silk brocade with laid paper backing. Image: 33 1/2" H x 11 1/2" W. Whole: 65" H x 16 1/4" W. Likely Edo period, 19th century.

Chinese patinated figural bronze sculpture depicting a foo dog with the front paws on a ball resting on a rectangular base. Mounted on a comforming wood base with added lamp fittings. Bronze on base measures: 12 1/2" H x 12 1/2" W. 28 1/2" total H. 20th century.
