Tibetan carved and silver mounted skull bowl or Kapala, comprised of a Tibetan monk's skull with carved auspicious Buddhist symbols, lined with silver on the interior and trimmed with a band of 48 silver skull faces applied just under the top rim. 2 3/4"H x 6 3/4"W x 5 1/16"D. 18th century. Provenance: the estate of Mrs. Adna Godfrey Wilde, Jr. (Sara Joan Wilde), Colorado Springs, CO, ex-Robert H. Cornell, Springfield, Mass. Condition: Overall good condition with expected wear.
