Two (2) Meissen porcelain bear figural groups in naturalistic glaze depicting one bear reared on its haunches and roaring with another bear seated at its side, including one (1) pair with the roaring bear intimidating its companion (7" H x 6" W x 4" D) and one (1) smaller pair with both bears gazing upwards (5 3/8" H x 3 3/4" W x 3" D). Both items with Meissen blue crossed swords mark and impressed numbering to undersides. German, 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Estate of Mark Jackson Smith Jr., Nashville, TN, by descent from his father, Mark Jackson Smith, Sr.
CONDITION: Both items in overall very good condition. Larger pair with minute scattered surface residue to lower bear.
