Pair of Continental Classical mahogany pier tables, of narrow form, mahogany veneer and pine secondary. Comprised of plain tops above one dovetailed drawer, carved gilt figural swan supports above front convex legs terminating into gilt paws, above an incurvate lower shelf, all on turned front feet. 37 1/2" H X 22 1//" W x 12 1/8" D. 19th century.
CONDITION: Tops are 20th century replacements; tables most likely originally fitted with marble tops. Original hardware to drawers has been removed and old screw holes have been filled. Veneer replacements to lower section of front legs of one table. Losses to gilding of swan heads and some regilding. Minor scattered general use wear and losses to surface, a couple of wood patches noted.
