Billy Ray Hussey (NC, b. 1955) folk art stoneware figural bank in the form of a footed barrel with protruding figures including Adam and Eve, a devil face, and multiple male figures. Incised inscriptions throughout including “Money runs Away”, “Greedy and Lazy folks will steal what’s yours”, “Love with a good woman and good man will last forever” and “A strong hand will keep the devil out”. Salt-glazed with cobalt and green accents. Signed on the base B.H. together with incised numbers. 7″ H x 7 1/2″ L x 5 1/2″ W. 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Middle Tennessee Collection.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition.
