American copper tea kettle, possibly Kentucky or North Carolina, with gooseneck spout and strap handle, lid with turned wood finial. Stamped on strap handle, C. REED MAYSVILLE. 11 1/8" H x 12 1/4" W x 8" D. Early 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Middle Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Oxidation and scattered denting with a separation at the seam of body and spout. Handle having split with evidence of two old repairs. Lid cleaned with a few deep incised scratches and lid finial a replacement.
