American Classical dressing mirror and stand with marble top, mahogany with poplar secondary, comprising a rectangular mirror supported on two turned posts topped with urn and acorn shaped finials; the white marble top surmounted by a bank with center dovetailed drawer flanked by two false drawers creating interior hidden compartments on either side, over a base with two dovetailed drawers, on a quadruped base with turned pedestal and paw feet. 78"H x 32"W x 21"D. American, probably New York, circa 1830.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of David B. Person, Holly Springs, Mississippi.
CONDITION: Repaired break to pedestal, minor breaks to one corner edge (above one of the two drawers). Front edge molding reglued. Several small scattered abrasions, veneer chips and scratches. 1 1/2" chips to veneer on mirror and front drawer surrounds (on smaller drawers). Marble in overall good condition with light staining.
