Outstanding carved New York Classical period mahogany veneered sleigh bed. Head and footboards topped by curved rounded rails with deep acanthus carved ends, terminating in clusters of fruit above the finely veneered convex rails. Curved and legs, deeply carved in the form of cornucopias full of fruit, terminating in hairy paw feet. 43 1/2"h x 60"w x 104"d. New York, c. 1825. Provenance: Estate of A.
