English George III style Pembroke table by the London maker Edwards & Roberts. Mahogany with satinwood palmette and banding to the top and drawer fronts, satinwood and line inlay to the tapering legs. Drawer with maker's label and incised name. 28 1/4" H X 28" D x 35 1/4" W (w/ leaves). Late 19th/Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of David Caldwell, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with general use wear including minor scattered wear and abrasions to the top and the top sides, and wear to edges of leaves near peg holes. One of the ends with diagonal split to one corner. One of the leaves with breaks to two corners, near connecting pins. Pedestals with later-added metal braces. Some original hardware to connect the top to the base is absent.
