Pair of blue and white Delft tin-glazed earthenware recumbent cow figures on plinth bases. Both with painted floral designs to the back, neck and head with scroll and leaf patterning to the base. Both marked on base with stylized TA and I : H 48 for Jacobus Halder Andriacnsz. working 1758-1768. 6 1/2" H x 10 1/8" W x 4 7/7" D. Dutch, 18th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Raymond White, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Slight surface grime, scattered minor wear, and some losses to glaze, largest measuring 1/4" H x 1/4" W. One cow has repair and restorations with hairlines along the spine, belly, and hindquarters of the animal, largest measuring 6 3/8" L. Both cows with restorations to horns, one with minor area to right cheek, overall crazing to heads.
