Oil on canvas seascape painting of group of sailboats at sea in moonlight, in the style of Edward Moran (PA, NY, 1829-1901). Signed lower right. Commemorative brass plaque on frame. Sight – 21 3/4" H x 35 1/2" W. Framed – 30 5/8" H x 44 1/2" W. American School, late 19th century. Provenance: The University Club of Nashville, TN; donated by Dr. and Mrs. Everette James in honor of Vanderbilt University Chancellor and Mrs. Heard. CONDITION: Overall light craquelure. Possible inpainting middle right side in sky. See blacklight photo.
