Five (5) piece Japanese .950 sterling silver tea set by Okubo Brothers, consisting of a coffee pot, teapot, lidded sugar bowl, creamer, and tea strainer. Urn form shaped bodies with squared handles and round pedestal feet. All pieces marked on the underside “Sterling 950 Okubo”. Ranging in size from 3 in. H x 3 in. W to 12 3/4 in. H x 9 1/2 in. W. 92.09 total troy ounces. 20th century. Together with an English silverplated rectangular handled tray with scrolling foliate handles and border, and foliate engraved center with a standing bird of prey and banner reading GAUDET LUCE VIDERI. 19 in. H x 32 in. W. Late 19th or early 20th century.
CONDITION: Coffee pot and teapot with creasing on the tops of the handles, denting on the hinges, and minor dimples on the lids. The sugar bowl does not sit flush. All pieces with light overall scratching and with monograms.
