Pair of Eleanor McAdoo Wiley (TN, 1876-1977) companion impressionist portraits of a young woman and young man. The woman is depicted wearing a dark coat, white shirt, and pink necktie along with a straw hat with blue and pink flowers and a blue ribbon. The male is depicted in a dark suit, white shirt, and black necktie. Both are set against a multicolor backdrop and signed in red lower left "Eleanor M. Wiley-". Housed in matching silvered wood frames. Sight: 17 7/8"H x 13 7/8"W. Framed: 21 3/8"H x 17 3/8"W. Artist's Biography: Tennessee artist Eleanor McAdoo Wiley (1876-1977) studied art at the University of Tennessee and Stevens Art School in Gatlinburg, TN. She was a founder of the Dulin Gallery of Art in Knoxville and member of the Nicholson Art League.
CONDITION: Both overall very good condition. Male portrait with a couple of horizontal cracklure lines noted to lower margin of painting.
