1st item: Pierre Jules (P.J.) Mene (France, 1810-1879) patinated bronze lidded urn or game trophy with high relief and figural decoration including a helmeted falcon finial atop the lid together with game and fish forms; two naturalistic branch handles; central body with forest scenes of hounds hunting game animals; a snake attacking a bird's nest to stem; and bramble-form base. Signed "PJ MENE" to lower edge of body by fox's paws. Partially legible stamp to lower edge of body below stag's hooves, possibly Barbediene. 15" H x 8 1/4" W x 5 1/2" D. 19th century. 2nd-3rd items: Pair (2) European Black Forest style bronze candlesticks with gilt bronze bobeche, base, and squirrels perched atop patinated bronze branch-form stem. 7 3/8" H x 3" square. Late 19th/early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Property from the Collection of Jo Ann Cline Yates, Lookout Mountain Tennessee.
CONDITION: 1st item: Scattered minor areas of oxidation. Finial is slightly loose in mounting. Lid does not sit flush with rim. 2nd-3rd items: Loss of two original squirrel forms with one later replacement. One bobeche slightly bent.
