Constance Curtis (American, 1869-1959) oil on canvas still life titled "Mexican Bottle" with bottle of wine, box, grapes, jug and glass set against a Southwestern patterned textile background. Signed "C. Curtis" lower left. Titled en verso of stretcher. Remnant of old label reads: "Miss Constance Curtis No. 2 Mexican Bottle 16 x 20 Def. Con–" Artist's name and New York City address also en verso of stretcher and canvas. Unframed. 20" H x 16" W. Biography: Constance Curtis was born in Washington, D.C. and studied at the Art Students League in New York. She exhibited at the Paris Exposition, St. Louis World's Fair, at London and in principal art exhibitions in the U.S. President Art Workers Club for Women.
