Chinese paktong or pewter bowl or wash basin with wide rim engraved in landscape vignette to well surrounded by foliate designs. Unmarked. Raised on carved hardwood stand with scrolled design. 3 3/8" H x 12 1/2" dia. Overall with stand: 8" H x 13 7/8" W x 12 1/2" D. 19th century or earlier.
PROVENANCE: Private Illinois Collection.
CONDITION: Scattered minor denting and scattered minute pitting throughout. Basin likely not original to stand; stand with previous repair.
