1st item: Lacquered and gilt Buddhist shrine with two Bodhisattva figures, representing the perfect mind of bliss of the Buddha Amida and the worldly truth of Buddha Dharma, flanking a central ornament with inscribed panel, gilt calligraphy on blue background, atop a multi-tiered base. 8 1/2" H x 9" W x 2 3/4" D. Likely Japanese, late 19th to early 20th century. 2nd item: Red glazed ceramic Guanyin figure, depicted seated on a black glazed base simulating rocks, with a small censer at her side. Unmarked. 7 1/2" H. Likely Chinese, 20th century.
CONDITION: 1st item: Figures lack hands, one lacks the carved lotus background; all possibly part of a larger shrine. Overall light wear and surface abrasions and age cracks. 2nd item: Handle on censor missing.
