American school 19th century oil on canvas Hudson River School-style landscape painting depicting a river or lake, possibly the Hudson River. Two pine trees stand alongside yellow and orange fall foliage in the foreground and a hazy mountain range rises in the distance, possibly the Adirondack Mountains. A single figure in a rowboat and a tiny, faraway sailboat navigate the waterway. Signed “C.D. Hunt,” lower left. Housed in a giltwood frame with nameplate. Sight: 7 1/2″ H x 12 1/4″ W. Framed: 10 1/2″ H x 15 1/4″ W.
CONDITION: Overall good condition. With surface grime plus minor craqueleure throughout. Pinpoint loss to sky, upper right corner. Frame with abrasions and gilt loss plus some cracking to gilt.
