Georges Charles Robin (France, 1873 – 1943) oil on canvas landscape titled PONT-AVEN, FINISTERE, depicting various village buildings and figures next to a river with boats tethered near a stairway and green trees lining the opposite bank, in the small French town of Pont Aven. Signed "Georges Robin" lower right. Retains an old gallery label for Vixseboxse Art Galleries, Inc, Cleveland, OH. Housed in a carved and painted rococo style frame wth painted wood mat. Sight: 17 3/4" H x 21" W. Framed: 26" H x 29 1/4" W.
CONDITION: Painting with overall light grime. Light craquelure to paint in upper sky area and one pinprick area of accretion to lower mid margin. Spotting to back of canvas. Frame with scattered abrasions and lower edge of mat with minor paint loss.
