East Tennessee two piece bookcase desk, African American history, walnut primary and poplar secondary woods. Upper case with ogee cornice over blind door opening to three interior shelves. Lower case comprised of a slant front desk withtwo interior drawers and three compartments. Ring turned legs. Condition – Overall very good condition with old surface, later latch to bookcase doors, locks missing, interior compartment valance missing, and expected wear tolegs. 69 5/8" H x 33" W x 25 1/2" D. Provenance: Estate of the late J. N. Lonas, Knoxville, TN. Circa 1840.
