Two (2) cobalt decorated salt glaze pottery jars including one (1) lidded 1-gallon jar with two foliate cobalt leaf decorations and lid with light brown glaze, unmarked (9" H); and one (1) 1-gallon jar with foliate cobalt decoration, unmarked (8" H). Possibly Mid-Atlantic, mid-late 19th century.
CONDITION: 1st item: lid with chipping to nob handle. 2nd item: Hairline crack beginning at rim and extending into decoration at upper shoulder 4 1/2"L. Two minor areas of loss of glaze, largest 1/4" dia.
