1st item: Ladies burlwood toiletry box, likely English, having a hinged lid with inlaid mother of pearl shield and escutcheon, a fitted interior with removable tray, partially fitted with blue velvet covers, retaining three round glass lidded. 5 7/8" H x 10 7/8" W x 7 7/8" D. 2nd item: One (1) walnut coffin form tea caddy with brass escutcheon. Interior fitted with two lidded compartments. 4 1/2" H x 8 3/4" W x 4 5/8" D. 3rd item: One (1) maple trinket box having a scalloped rim and fitted lid with a serpentine strap handle. 2 1/2" H x 10" W x 4 5/8" D. 4th item: One (1) walnut square form keepsake box with brass escutcheon, latched and hinged lid with engraved brass handle atop bun feet. 9 3/4" H x 8 1/8" W x 8 1/8" D. All pieces Late 19th/Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Raymond White, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: 1st item: Scattered losses to veneer, largest measuring 1/2" x 3/4"; wood shrinkage to veneer measuring 5 1/8" L. Two glass containers with hairline cracks; minor wear to interior velvet. 2nd item: Overall good condition with minor scattered wood shrikage; age wear to interior paper lining. 3rd item: Overall very good condition with minor surface scratches. 4th item: Loss of one hinge to lid; losses to wood at back of lid, largest measuring 1/4" x 2 1/4". Surface discoloration and wear commensurate with age.
