Seven (7) Continental gilt mounted miniature boxes, including one (1) Sevres-style porcelain serpentine form trinket box with painted pastoral scene to lid, signed "Risar", surrounded by foliate gilt cartouche upon a pink ground with cross-hatch and rosette design with floral sprays to interior, and blue pseudo-Sevres "B" mark to underside; one (1) Sevres-style porcelain oval form trinket box with painted pastoral scene to lid bordered by teal patterned ground, floral sprays to body, and blue makers mark to underside; one (1) chased brass serpentine form trinket box with painted genre market scene, signed "Ferrand", and green velvet interior; one (1) Feuillet Paris Sevres-style porcelain snuff or trinket box with instrumental medallions and floral swags on a blue and white ground, spurious Sevres mark to underside; one (1) Sceaux porcelain rectangular form snuff box with floral sprays and pink, cross-hatched corners, faint blue makers mark and "3" to underside; one (1) Chantilly soft paste porcelain figural bonbonniere depicting a lady in a white floral dress using her chamber pot with painted wheat to underside and insect to interior; and one (1) German Capodimonte-style rectangular form pill box with raised scene of frolicking putti to lid and cherubs among the clouds to body, spurious Capodimonte mark to underside. All ranging from 1 1/2" H x 2 1/8" W x 1 5/8" D to 3 5/8" H x 4 1/8" W x 2 7/8" D. All items Late 18th/19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Minute scattered residue and wear to surfaces. Sceaux snuff box with partial detachment of brass mounting to corner of lid with corresponding glue residue. Chantilly box with previous repair to neck of figure with corresponding inpainting. Capodimonte-style box latch no longer functioning.
