Two (2) Peti Clements (Alabama, 1911-1999) folk art acrylic on board paintings. 1st item: A miniature painting depicting a robin’s nest signed “Peti,” housed in a deeply carved wood frame. Sight: 1 3/4 in. sq. Framed: 5 5/8 in. sq. 2nd item: Black Americana folk art painting depicting a young girl with bright red hair ribbons seated in a wagon filled with cotton and surrounded by cotton signed “Peti Clements,” lower right. Sight: 4 1/2 in. x 6 1/4 in. Framed: 6 3/4 x 8 3/4 in. Biographical Note: Peti Clements was a female folk artist raised on a rural Alabama farm, and many of her paintings depict scenes of her early, everyday life. Her work is represented in the permanent collection of the Tennessee Valley Art Museum, Tuscumbia, AL.
CONDITION: Both paintings overall very good condition.
