William Monk (England, 1863-1937) watercolor on paper painting depicting soldiers marching through an arched portal draped with flags from multiple countries, including the UK and France, observed by officers in the foreground. Signed MONK lower left. Matted and framed under glass in a molded giltwood frame. Sight – 17" H x 22" W. Frame – 25" H x 29" W. Note: William Monk was known for his watercolor depictions of ceremonial events including the English Royal Jubilee and the Irish International Exhibition of 1907.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carl Klein, Brentwood, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall excellent condition, no damage noted. Some minor toning to mat. Not examined out of frame.
