Erwin Otis Lauffer (Ohio, 1889-1977) oil on canvas impressionistic painting depicting a rural landscape with a figure in the foreground before a stone bridge, houses and other buildings in the midground, and mountains in the background. Signed "Erwin O. Lauffer, 1942" lower right. Original purchase receipt attached en verso. Housed in a contemporary giltwood frame with a linen liner and gilt fillet. Sight: 15 1/4" H x 18 3/4" W. Framed: 21 3/4" H x 25 1/4" W.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carl Klein, Brentwood, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall good condition. Painting has been lined, light grime to canvas. Frame with some wear and minor losses to gilt paint.
