1st item: English George III mahogany bombe form tea caddy on bracket feet with gilt brass rocaille handle to lid and foliate escutcheon to body, opens to fabric-lined lid and fitted interior containing three tin tea containers with round or domed lids. 6 3/4" H x 10 1/8" W x 6 3/8" D. 2nd item: French satin or fruitwood Palais Royal style trinket box with burlwood bands; brass hinge handle, escutcheon, and bracket feet; and floral paper-lined interior. 3 1/4" H x 6 1/4" W x 4 1/2" D. 3rd item: Georgian satinwood rectangular box with inlaid oval burlwood reserves and exotic, possibly zebrawood, crossbanding; the lid with brass bail handle, opening to a green velvet-lined interior with removable shallow insert. 7 1/8" H x 9 1/4" W x 5 1/2" D. All items 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Urbana, Illinois collection.
CONDITION: All items with minor scattered surface wear commensurate with age. 1st item: Minor wear to bracket feer; minute loss to edge of lid measuring 1/2" L. 2nd item: Minor glue residue to age split at underside. 3rd item: Minute scattered age splits to veneer. Scattered minor losses to veneer, largest measuring 3/8" x 1/4". Velvet lining with scattered separation. Later added felt lining to underside.
