Luigi Sabatelli (Italian, 1772 – 1850) pen and ink drawing on paper, study with male and female heads, arms and hands. Inscription "Sabatelli" lower left in pencil. Label en verso for Margret Biedermann Gallery, Munich and another label describing the work and noting Sabatelli painted neoclassical frescoes for the Pitti Palace, Florence. Sheet is float mounted on a white mat and matted and framed under glass in a narrow giltwood molded frame. Sheet- 7 1/4"H x 9"W. Framed – 14 1/2"H x 16"W.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of F. Hamilton Hazlehurst, longtime chair of the Vanderbilt University Art Department.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with some light creasing, toning particularly at edges, discoloration lower left corner, 1/8" tear left edge.
